I thought that in Canada, there are only two major languages - English and French. But how come in Vancouver schools and some government and nonprofit offices, chinese translations are posted beside english announcements instead of the french translation? If chinese translations are provided, how come other languages were not provided? Are the chinese exempted from learning English? Will Vancouver eventually be a Chinese speaking area just like the French speaking areas in Quebec?

I have to read it by september 10th plus another book and I think it will be pretty impossible. I have seen there are many translations and Im guessing some are shorter than the real thing. Is there a big difference between them?

Iliad & Odyssey Beowulf Inferno Gilgamesh Aeneid For The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid, I have versions translated by Robert Fagles. I also have Dante translated by Anthony Esolen. Are there better translations out there? The current Beowulf and Gilgamesh I have are old, and are "Anonymous."
